Michelin-starred food to be served 165ft above the ground at Brusselicious 2012
It's usually just the prices that are sky-high at Michelin-starred restaurants. But this summer visitors to the Brussels food festival are being offered the chance to enjoy a gourmet meal 165ft above the ground.
Dinner in the Sky, which will take place each night in June, allows up to 22 daredevil diners the chance to enjoy an adrenalin-fuelled evening on a 'floating' restaurant platform suspended from a giant crane above the Belgian capital.
The restaurant will visit four different sites throughout the month - including the Royal Palace, the Atomium, the Esplanade du Cinquantenaire and the Bois de la Cambre - giving diners a spectacular bird's eye view of the city.
The seats are all fitted with safety harnesses and can rotate 180 degrees to allow diners to soak up their surroundings. While they pick out the local landmarks their food is prepared by a Michelin-starred chef in the middle of the platform, which is fitted with a small oven.
The stunning view and gourmet meal is expected to cost around £125 per person.
Dinner in the Sky has so far visited more than 40 cities including London, Paris, Dubai, Las Vegas and Monaco, where Prince Albert was treated to a meal prepared by celebrated French chef Joel Robuchon.
Other highlights of Brusselicious 2012 include a tour to find the city's best chips, a meal on a gourmet tram and giant food sculptures made of brussel sprouts.
